I was very sad to see that people who sighned this gestbook didn't like Perryton because it is a realy great place to live!!! Name: Krystal Hirst CommentsHello Perryton, I was born and raised in Perryton and moved when I was 15. I've lived in Oklahoma now for about 8 years and visit my family in Perryton very often. Perryton hasn't changed a bit. I havent seen any of my friends in a very long time and would love to hear from them. Please e-mail me at the address above. Hope everyone is doing great. Name: Chelsea CommentsHi Everyone, I graduated high school in '99, and then I moved out of there as fast as I could, and now I often sit and wonder wether I should of ever left in the first place. Perryton is a wonderful community. If anyone reads this and knows my parents (Bill & Peaches Goldsberry) tell them I love them. Chelsea Name: Jacob Caldwell CommentsJust visited Perryton last weekend. Loved it there. I have friends who live their and they just moved there a few months ago they as well truly love it. Great place and people. Jacob Caldwell Las Cruces New Mexico Name: Stephanie Aylor Scott CommentsHey Perryton! I grew up in Perryton. Lived there all my life until I got married. I live in Levelland now. Anyway sometimes I miss Perryton. Prolly just cause my family is there but sometimes I just miss the small town feeling. Levelland isn't huge but it ain't small like Perryton either. Anyway Just wanted to drop yall a line and say howdy! Name: Sheryl Holdeman CommentsI grew up in Perryton. Finished all my schooling there with the exception of my senior year which I graduated in 1974 in Independence, Mo. I still have some close family there, which I don't get to see often. I have so many happy memories. The Dixie Dog was "the" best place to eat. I remember the corn dogs were the best, and my favorite drink was a cherry lime. Dragging main with my best friend when I was in high school was 'the thing to do'. I miss the laid back feeling of that time in my life. I would like to say hi to my best friend, Nancy Hargues. So if anyone sees her pass this message on. Name: Vickie Robinson CommentsI lived in Perryton from approx. '84-'88. Although I went to Jr High and High school there, I ended up graduating in Pampa, TX. My father Bobby Jeff Robinson moved to Pampa while I was attending Basic Training with the Army. I still view Perryton as my home town even though I was there just a short while. I do miss the Dixie Dog, Sonic, and even the Dairy Queen. I used to love free ice cream from the the Padillas. They owned it back then I think. I loved those folks. Good hearted just like the rest of the town back then. I am looking for folks who I grew up with: Aaron Youtsey, Erron Savage (your parents were the best!), Perry Jines (loved your musical talent), even those McGarraugh(sp) boys. Now those were some parties. Im totally missing alot of the friends I had back then, sorry about that. I am currently living in California and would love to hear from folks who remember me. Its good to touch base with those you loved. Name: Ray Brewer CommentsSpent most of my life in perryton and loved ever year.if any of my buddies see this answer. or phone 903- 523-4284. Name: Debbie Thomsen (Janzen) CommentsI was born in Perryton in 1962, we moved when I was small to Hays Kansas. I left behind all of my cousins "The Creswells" I miss them very much and I not sure how to reach them with e-mail but I came across this by accident so I thought I would leave my message and hope they see it ya'll can email me at dbbthomsen@yahoo.com that means you Brent & Teresa,Aunt Josie all of you guys okay? Love ya Debbie & Heather too Name: Jason Hodges CommentsGreat site! I grew up in Fort Worth and met an outstanding young lady from Perryton at Baylor University. She was so outstanding that I talked her into marrying me and Perryton has become my "second" hometown. I love visiting... Especially the Dixie Dog. Go Rangers! Name: John-Scott Horton CommentsPerryton is my new home away from home. My parents moved there about two years ago and I spend my holidays there now. I understand many people's sentiments of feeling liberated by leaving Perryton, as I felt the same upon leaving my home town of Stinnett. I look back on the Panhandle with fond nostalgia now, though, as I sit in traffic everyday in Austin, TX. Small towns are nice and Perryton is a nice one in comparison to most. I hope the town maintains its charm and never allows a super center to move in and unravel the fabric of the community for good deals on cheap plastic trinkets. I have some nice things from Walls. Name: JoAn (Wheeler) Gilley CommentsClass of '60. Retired from TxDot, Lubbock. Memories of Perryton - dragging main with my girlfriends Anita, Jimmie, Carol, Carolyn ... falling in love and getting married, having our first baby, going to church and W.M.U. ... thanks for the memories; nice website. I have to laugh because the "Chambers" view of Perryton is sooooo ??????. I loved it when I lived there, don't get me wrong but, things were different when I lived there I guess. I live in Klamath Falls, OR now and I am 3 hrs from the ocean and about 2 hrs from the Redwoods, etc. I only have to drive a short distance and I am in the mountains. We are surrounded by lakes here. The famous Crater Lake is only 45 minutes from here. I laugh at people here though. If the wind gusts at 25 miles per hr everyone is screaming that the wind is horrid. They think it is hot here if it is 75-80 degrees with 10 percent humidity. I know you in Perryton are laughing too as you read this. The thing that is most impressive about Perryton, though in my opinion, is the people. I absolutely loved the community church services and how everyone got together for the Jesus film distribution. WOW! You don't find much of that here among the churches. Anyway, I am having fun reading the comments here. If anyone knows how to get ahold of Will McCartor I would sure appreciate it. I believe he would have graduated HS around 99, and if I remember correctly his parents ran a bed and breakfast there- I'm sure the only one in town! Thank you very much. Name: Jimmy McLain CommentsPHS class of '75- Just wondering if anyone has a timeline on the 2005 class reunion? I have only returned to Perryton once since graduation in 1975, and have never returned for a class reunion. Would be interested in going this next year, if anyone can provide any details?? Also, hello to the Allred's and the Davis's...if any of you read this, would be interested in hearing from you. Name: Michael L. Sims CommentsWOW! I stumbled onto Perryton's home page by accident. I lived there in the late 60's and knew Mike Hargrove and his grandpa. My mother was Johnnie Gurley, who worked at the corner drug store. My aunt, Jenny used to work at the Ellis theather downtown. Ben Ellis was a good friend at one time, as was all the Pshigoda boys. I left there the summer before my senior year (1969) and dated Tanis Price for some time. We use to make a run to Liberal, Ks ever so often to get some goodies since the county was dry. My sister graduated in 1967, she was a head cheerleader and most beautiful in her class her senior year--Linda Sue Sims who now lives by Spearman on a ranch and married Joseph Vennaman. It was great growing up in Perryton and I have some of the best memories. I live in Aurora Co now and have been a parts manager for Ford Lincoln-Mercury for 27 years. If anyone reads this and remembers me, e-mail me and say hi and whats going on in your life. Go Perryton Rangers. Name: GW & Sherrie Stroud CommentsJust updating my e-mail. We lived in Perryton for 13 years and loved it. Still have friends we communicate with. Had two children Josh and Jennifer Stroud. Would love to hear from someone. Name: Jess Karns CommentsDon't ask me why, but tonight I was thinking of my childhood days in Perryton. I was born there in 1948 and moved away in 1960. Of all my memories growing up, Perryton stands out as the best. I had a great childhood there and many good friends. It would be great to hear from those that just might remember the little kid that lived on the wrong side of the tracks near the old stock yards. Your web site is great. Jess Karns Name: Jeff Shaffer CommentsReally loved your site. We have just launched our new Texas Deer Lease hunting website. I would like you to take a look at it to see if your local landowners could use it to bring hunters to your community. Your landowners can list for Free on our site. http://www.texasleaseconnection.com Name: Anonymous CommentsActually, now I agree with the lyle's... Perryton is full of snobbish people. Especially the teens who think they're all that. I can't wait to get out of this hell hole and to the real world. Name: Charles Yoakum CommentsMy mother was born in Grey, Oklahoma and moved with her family to Perryton. The family name was Drake and my grandfather owned and operated the Sinclair Service Station on the North side of the park. I was born there in 1939. One of our friends was the Paynes. Jack Payne was editor of the paper. The last time I was there was for the 50th wedding annaversary for my uncle, Dwight Drake. While there I went to the museum to see the famous home built plane. Before that, I had seen it as a child, in Harold Hawks barn. It had been ordered dismantled, by the FAA, as un-flightworthy. It didn't seem fair then & still doesn't. Thanks for the memories.
